Chapter 5b: Six Point Meditation

Drawn from Chapter 5 of Mindfulness Meditation and the Art of Reiki, the Six Point Meditation is a powerful energetic awareness practice that helps you tune into the body’s natural flow of energy while resting deeply in mindfulness. This chakra-based meditation uses the breath and gentle focus to awaken six key energetic centres, from the crown to the base, and is especially useful during self-treatment or when giving Reiki to others.

Rather than visualising chakras in the abstract, you are guided to feel into each point as a living presence within the energy body. The breath becomes a bridge, drawing Reiki energy in from the Universal Field and distributing it through the crown, third eye, throat, heart, and into the hara and hands. As you move from one point to the next, awareness expands and energetic flow becomes clearer and more embodied.

This practice helps you get out of your own way during healing work, minimising interference from mental chatter or the desire to control outcomes. Instead, it places you in a position of receptivity and alignment. Over time, it sharpens sensitivity to subtle shifts in energy and strengthens your presence as a practitioner.

Even outside of a treatment context, this meditation offers a grounded and revitalising way to reconnect with the full spectrum of your being, body, breath, and spirit.
