Reiki 3A is the first part of the Third Degree or Level in Reiki Jin Kei Do. It’s designed for practitioners who want to deepen their own experience of the system. The focus here is personal, learning new techniques, exploring more advanced meditative practices, and building a stronger internal relationship with Reiki. You’ll be introduced to the Master Symbol and receive the Master empowerment and be supported in working with it as part of your ongoing practice.
This level doesn’t change how you treat others, but it gives you tools to explore energy and awareness in new ways and increases your potential to channel more energy. It can be a meaningful step on its own, or a preparation for what comes next, whether that’s Teacher Training (Level 3B, The Reiki Master training) or Buddho 3A.
This level offers a space for refinement. You’ll build confidence with advanced tools, explore meditative practices that support real insight, and grow into a steadier relationship with your role as a practitioner.

Many practitioners find that this level shifts the way they relate to themselves and others. Intuition becomes clearer and sharper. Energy work feels more natural and responsive. You may notice that other might feel something different around you; that your presence brings calmness and clarity into the spaces you inhabit far more than before. This is often where the system begins to feel fully lived and due to the power of the attunement/empowerment process, utterly transformational.
Some choose to move on to 3B soon after. Others stay with 3A for some time, allowing the energy and the practices to settle and deepen.
No. 3A is often taken for deepening personal practice. It’s a valuable step whether or not you plan to move into teaching.
3A focuses on internal cultivation: working with the Master Symbol, meditation, and subtle anatomy. 3B focuses on transmitting Reiki to others and stepping into the role of teacher.
There’s no set timeline. It depends on when the work feels integrated and when you’re genuinely ready to support others in this way. Remember the division between 3A and 3B is an artificial one. Some have taken 3B on the very next day after completing 3A.
Yes. You’ll receive a Master Practitioner Certificate and access to integration materials and support. Please note that the Master Practitioner certificate is not officially recognised as the split in Level 3 that provides it, is artificial to make access to the teachings easier.
