This meditation expands on the foundational breathing work introduced in earlier chapters, offering a more dynamic way to explore the body’s subtle energy system. The practice is rooted in abdominal breathing but goes further by consciously guiding awareness through key energetic points or “gates” within the body.
Working with the breath in this way not only enhances your sensitivity to energy, it also activates what the book refers to as the microcosmic orbit, a circulation of energy from crown to hara and back out to the hands. You begin by drawing energy in through the top of the head, storing it in the hara, and then circulating it out through the palms. This full-body flow strengthens your energetic presence, nourishes the energy centres, and anchors awareness deep in the physical and subtle body.
