Maybe you’re at a turning point. You know there’s more waiting for you, even if you’re not sure how to reach it. That’s why I’m here.
I didn’t set out to become a coach. Or lead retreats. Or help people clear the noise so they could hear or heal themselves again.
What I did know was that I had hit a wall. Life felt hollow, like I was moving through someone else’s version of it. On the outside, it seemed fine. Inside, I knew I was off track.
That was the beginning.
I dove into the work, at first just to get by, then to understand, and eventually to grow into something new. Over time, I found myself teaching, guiding, and supporting others. The lessons I’d gathered weren’t just for me, they were for anyone ready to walk that path.
Everything I share through The Abundant Self, retreats, the various workshops and coaching is built on that journey. It’s real, lived experience: practical tools that create real change.
In this interview on the Karma Cafe Spiritual Hour with James Beam and Chandi Devi, I reflect on the journey that led me from art and sculpture into Reiki, and eventually into Reiki Jin Kei Do and Buddho practice. We discuss my early teachers, the Buddhist roots of Reiki, and how compassion and wisdom became central to my work. The conversation also explores the launch of 12 Seconds for Peace, my experiences living and writing in Sudan, and the creative resilience that shaped projects like Islam’s Gandhi. It offers a wide-ranging picture of why I do this work and how art, spirituality, and social change have always been interconnected in my life.
After years of doing this work, here’s what I’ve noticed:
Most people feel stuck because they’ve spent so long silencing their own voice that they’ve lost touch with how to trust it. It’s hard to love yourself when you’re always second-guessing. That’s at the heart of so many struggles I see.
Underneath it all, though, that part of you is still there. It’s just buried under layers of pressure, perfectionism, and fear.
When you start to reconnect with your true self, when you remember how it feels to live from that place, everything starts to shift.
I’ve witnessed that moment on retreat when someone lights up unexpectedly over lunch. I’ve seen it on a Zoom call, in the tears that come when they realise it’s okay to feel again. I’ve seen it quietly, in the way someone starts standing taller, even before the outside circumstances change.
That’s why I do this work. Because that moment when someone sees their own strength and clarity, reminds me what’s possible.
This is a space for real tools, real insights, and real support.
It’s about giving you the tools to remove what’s in the way so you can move forward with clarity and confidence.
You don’t need to have all the answers or a perfect plan. You just need to feel that quiet pull inside, the sense that there’s something more for you.
I work with people who are ready to leave behind old patterns and create a life that feels true to who they are. People who want more clarity, confidence, and a sense of purpose that fits their own path.
Whether you’re drawn to a complete reset like The Abundant Self, an energy-based or meditation workshop, a retreat to reconnect with yourself, or a simple conversation to begin, this is your invitation to start.
