Why Isn’t Self-Awareness Enough to Change Behaviour?

You may understand exactly why you withdraw when a relationship becomes difficult. Perhaps you recognise the moment you begin delaying something important, or you can trace your fear of being seen back to an earlier experience. You may even catch the response while it’s happening and still find yourself following the same familiar course. Self-awareness helps you see what you’re doing and understand why you’re doing it. Behaviour begins to change when you can recognise the response early, understand what it’s trying to achieve and practise a different response in real situations. That process also involves the emotions, physical reactions and sense of identity that support the behaviour.

Why Do I Self-Sabotage? Understanding the Protective Pattern Behind the Behaviour

Self-sabotage often develops when your mind and body use an old protective strategy to preserve safety, familiarity, belonging, or control. The behaviour may interfere with something you genuinely want, yet it follows a logic your system learned through earlier experience. You decide to apply for the job, finish the project, promote your work, improve your finances, or leave a situation that has drained you for years. The decision feels clear while it remains an idea, but action brings hesitation, distraction, or a convincing reason to wait. After several rounds of the same sequence, the label self-sabotage can feel accurate because your behaviour repeatedly blocks progress. A useful explanation needs to go further and identify what the behaviour achieves in the moment, because that purpose determines what will help.

Why Do I Know What I Need to Do but Still Don’t Do It?

Have you ever caught yourself thinking, "I know exactly what I need to do. So why can't I just do it?" Perhaps you've promised yourself you'll exercise regularly, stop procrastinating, charge more for your work, leave a relationship that's making you unhappy or finally start the project you've been talking about for years. You genuinely want to change, and you understand exactly why that change would improve your life. Yet weeks, months or even years later, you find yourself making the same promises all over again.

Why Do I Keep Repeating the Same Patterns in My Life?

You keep repeating the same patterns because the response is already taking shape before you realise you’re making a decision. Your system has already interpreted the situation, generated a feeling, and narrowed the range of responses that feel available. By the time you act, most of the process has already happened. That’s why understanding the pattern rarely stops it. You can recognise what’s happening and still find yourself doing the same thing again when it matters most.

How Do the Reiki Symbols Work?

Reiki symbols often raise questions for people moving beyond Reiki Level 1. They can look mysterious when you first encounter them. They carry a sacred quality, which often makes beginners wonder where their power comes from. Does it come from the shape, the practitioner, the attunement, the Reiki energy itself, or the relationship between all of these?

Who Is The Abundant Self Programme For?

The Abundant Self Programme is for people who are seriously frustrated because the same problems keep coming back, even after years of trying to change them. You may have done plenty of courses, read all the books, maybe tried meditation, gone on retreats, worked with different coaches, tried to practice manifestation, explored therapy, written in notebooks, changed habits, followed advice, and promised yourself you were finally going to sort your life out. Then life proved that the deeper patterns are still there.

What Is The Abundant Self Programme?

The Abundant Self brings together awareness training, nervous system regulation, reflective practice, energy work, embodied inquiry, and practical integration. Through this process you develop a more stable relationship with yourself, recognise what’s been shaping your experience from the inside, and begin living from clarity rather than pressure. This isn’t a quick-fix abundance course. It's a structured eight-month process for returning to yourself, seeing what’s been running you, realigning with what’s true, and learning how to live from that place in real situations.

What Is Consciousness and How Does It Shape Your Experience of Reality?

Most people think the problem is their life. Often, the deeper problem is the consciousness through which they’re experiencing that life. That doesn’t mean your circumstances don’t matter. Work, money, health, relationships, grief, family pressure and practical responsibility all matter. None of those things are experienced in a neutral way. They’re received through your emotional state, nervous system, memories, beliefs, attention, identity and level of awareness.

Can Christians Practise Reiki?

Many Christians feel drawn to Reiki because it appears gentle, compassionate, and healing. At the same time, many feel cautious. They may have heard that Reiki is New Age, spiritually unsafe, incompatible with Christianity, or connected with angels, spirit guides, symbols, or unseen forces. The question is understandable: Can Christians practise Reiki? The answer depends on what kind of Reiki someone is learning, how the teacher explains it, what’s been added around it, and how it sits with that person’s conscience and church tradition.

Can Drawing Change the Way Your Brain Processes Information?

Most people think drawing depends on artistic talent, as though some people are simply born with it and others aren’t. But drawing is much more interesting than that. At its deepest level, drawing trains the mind to see more accurately. When you draw, you have to slow down. You have to look again. You have to notice shape, edge, distance, proportion, space, shadow and relationship. You begin to see the difference between what’s actually in front of you and what your mind assumes is there.
